Saturday Inspiration

Its that time again for my Saturday inspiration.
Keeping with the current challenge of non traditional Christmas colours I have coloured up this beautiful image with Polychrosmos Pencils. I added just a touch of a background behind her and also coloured the sky, this helps to bring out the image and to make her look more solid and also to tell a story. It also makes the fur on her hood and the colours of her coat pop a little more. I have kept the background of the card simple ,because the image is the main centerpiece and I used a simple fold back card design to set her off .The papers are from a Papermania Paper pack; A Krafty Christmas and just work so well with this card.To finish I added the two off cuts from the blue paper onto some craft card and added three snowflakes punched and finished with tiny crystals in their centers to the center ,then three to the other side to balance the card.I shall be adding a nice plaque verse to the inside of the card to sit behind the image when closed. There are a few more pics on my blog too :)xx

Please welcome Guest Designer
Giada

Hi I am Giada, I’m 32 years old and come from Milan in Italy. I think I'm born creative ... Since very small ( kindergarten) drew anywhere, even on paper napkins (which my mother still jealously preserves) ... Over the years grew with me also my interests, especially those that "turned around” paper, scissors, glue, markers, pencils and so on ... And thanks to the Italian TV program "L'albero azzurro"  (and the protagonist Dodò with his Boxes for create) I tried to express my best interests, going forward to build and mess around like crazy...
Growing up I learned to refine the techniques and to get interested in many other activities ... I tried everything: cardboard, making jewelry, modeling polymer clay, creative sewing with felt... And even modeling balloons (which still my friends ask me for the party of their children!)... Then, I discovered scrapbooking and especially stamping... Was love at first sight! Have found an activity that allowed me to get back to playing with crayons and pencils was amazing... And since then, I decided not to stop more! I opened my blog Lo Scatolone di Dodò at the suggestion (or should I say pressure, as they were years that he repeated it) of my husband, who advised me this way to give vent to my creativity and share it with other people with my same interesting.
In my blog show mainly my creations and the work in progress ... So I can also receive suggestions on new techniques that I experience as ... I am part of the dt of Brown Sugar and collaborate with the first italian Academy of creative arts as a teacher in scrapbooking, cardmaking and coloring techniques.

Saturday Inspiration

Hiya ,
Its definitely feeling like winter now ,but its a good excuse to stay in and make cards. Today's inspiration is following the ongoing challenge mostly, but as I had no yellow card I had to add Craft card instead,so please forgive me.I have used all Tattered Lace Dies on this project ,from the hearts to the Mia flower. It fit in so nicely with the vintage with a modern twist look  I was going for.The lovely image is coloured in using Polychromos pencils and the background to keep this soft has been done with chalks as I did not want to mess up the piece, a bit on the heavy hand with inks lol.
I chose to cut into the stamp slightly, it sometimes is nice to do this as it highlights areas ,like the face or flowers. I have done this a few times and it means if like me you don't like doing a stamp more than once ,you can do two totally different cards. Hope you like her and I hope you have a brilliant weekend.

Saturday Inspiration

Its that time again for my Saturday inspiration.
Following the current theme of Thankful or Thank You. I have used the beautiful image and coloured her in Polychromos Pencils and used all the beautiful colours of Autumn that have been with us for the last month. I don't know about you but the Autumn and Spring always make my heart sing, and I never cease to be thankful that I can witness this miracle as it happens each year.
I chose to create a Circular easel card for her.I used Tattered Lace Basic dies to cut the base out and I used papers from one of the Tonic paper pad,This was mounted onto russet card. I then added the Topper and then cut out lots of small leaves using a punch and hand coloured them with my SN pens.On the bottom of the card I placed a beautiful cut felt circle I felt went well with this project, then added a stopper.. I then started adding all the leaves as shown and finished with the charm and twine bow :)xx
